Roderic O'Flaherty: A Galway Scholar
And the presentation of Lorg to James Hardiman Library NUIG
Many thanks to Marie Boran, Special Collections Librarian, at The James Hardiman Library NUIG for hosting a very well attended seminar on Monday last – we certainly learned so much more about “Roderic O’Flaherty: A Galway Scholar” from the excellent presentations of Dr. Bernadette Cunningham (Author and Deputy Librarian at the Royal Irish Academy Dublin) and Nollaig Ó Muraíle (Member of the Royal Irish Academy, Author and Scholar).
Our own Mary O’Shea also did us proud in outlining the history and events of Moycullen’s “Year of O’Flaherty” 2018 Festival Programme and we took the opportunity on the day to present to The Hardiman Library, for future referencing, a copy of Moycullen Historical Society’s 2018 Calendar and our publication “Lorg”. We would mention that the last of the remaining copies of “Lorg” are currently for sale at Moycullen Bookshop, retailing at €5.00.
Many thanks to photographer Seán Ó Mainnín for his kindness, assistance and sharing of his photos from Monday last.
