Cathaoirleach's Community Awards 2019

The Community Awards 2019 for Galway County took place on 30 May 2019 in the Connemara Coast, Furbo, County Galway, with 230 people in attendance. The awards were jointly hosted by Galway County Council and Galway County Public Participation Network( PPN). They are a great opportunity for voluntary groups and volunteers to gain recognition for their contribution to their community.

This year there were over 140 nominations in 9 categories – Moycullen Heritage were honoured to be shortlisted, and go on to win, in the category of ‘Best Heritage Publication’ with ‘Ruaidhrí’s Story How Moycullen Got its Name’.

The award was presented on the night by Cathaoirleach Councillor Seán Ó’Tuairisg.
