Event Details

Honouring all the men and women from the Moycullen area who served or died in past wars or on service with the United Nations.

Date:  Sunday, 24th November 2019
Time:  1.00pm
Place:  Commemoration Stone, Áras Uilinn, Moycullen, Co. Galway

We attach hereunder copies of the three framed commemoration lists, permanently on view in Áras Uillin (1). List of Moycullen Men from Moycullen area who died in past wars
(2). Men and Women from Moycullen area who were veterans of wars and armies
(3). Men and Women from Moycullen area who were involved in, or were victims of, Ireland’s struggle for independence 1916-1923.

Post Event Note: Thank you to Pauline McDonagh who laid the wreath during a minutes silence, in honor of our Moycullen men who lost their lives in past wars.  Pauline’s granduncle Thomas O’Malley of Leagaun, 1st Class Private 1952792, 32nd Field Artillery, Medical Detachment, 83rd Division, US National Army, lost his life on 16th October 1918 during the Battle of Montfaucon, Meuse Argonne, France
