Date: Saturday, 4th March 2017
Place: An Fuarán Car Park, Moycullen, Co. Galway
Organisers: Moycullen Tidy Towns & Moycullen Historical Society
Promoting pride in where we live through community spirit, Moycullen Tidy Towns & Moycullen Historical Society would like all to join them in a clean up of our local roadways, heritage trails, community property, public areas, lakes and canals next Saturday. To date we have had much support for our event from people such as Inland Fisheries Ireland, OPW, Environment Section of Galway Co. Council, Galway Coarse Angling Club, Galway Kayak Club, Local FAS, Local elected Councillors and businesses and numerous local individuals, all agreeing to participate in our Spring Clean-Up effort.
Following completion of the Clean Up, refreshments will be served in ‘The Forge’. There will also be a short talk by County Galway Community Water Officer, Ms. Catherine Seale, on ‘Waters & Community- Working Together’ and on the benefits of forming a new Rivers (or ‘Catchments’) Trust in our area.
Depending on weather conditions it is hoped that free boating/conoeing/kayaking trips will be available to Spring Clean-up participants immediately after.
